Information:

Substation ‘J’ is a working zone substation owned by CitiPower which includes the former Spencer Street Power Station Control Room facilities. The first of the substations’ buildings was constructed in the 1920’s. It has some quite interesting history and impressive plant still in service.Participants will meet south side of Lonsdale Street, 50m East of Spencer Street, Melbourne CBD. Please note this is an operating substation with live electrical equipment. Access includes a number of flights of stairs. No children under 14 permitted. No pram/stroller or wheelchair access. Individual registration to be confirmed according to Engineers Australia and Citipower/Powercor requirements.
