Why You Should Attend

Electrical hazards can have a devastating impact on workers. Not only can electrical hazards cause fatalities, they can cause disabling, debilitating injuries that can cost millions to treat, creating a huge financial burden for injured workers and their employers as well as permanently damaging extensive and expensive equipment.

The Electrical Safety and Risk is a 3-day event that offers insights into frequent risks in routine electrical work and design planning.

Attend One of Our 2-Day Trainings!

Safety is one end of the coin, but risk and technical training is on the other. Both works together to ensure greater efficiency in your organisation’s electrical work!

Delegates can choose from two technical training sessions that take place simultaneously from the 28th-29th November 2017:

Training A:

Earthing and Bonding: Delegates will get the opportunity to benchmark their progress on AS2067 one year on through case studies, try their hand at manual earth fault hands calculations, reviewing existing earthing designs for maintenance and improvements, and benefit from much more interactivity and practical-driven case studies.

Training B:

Protection Systems: Delegates will cover overcurrent protection, earth fault protection, transformer protection, busbar protection, differential protection, ERPs, automation and IR thermal scanning, and much more.

The technical trainings provide further safety and risk mitigation issues, as well as the technical background into the mechanics. It offers new engineers a chance to learn the ropes and for more senior engineers, a concise refresher course.

Gain Insights into Best Strategies and Techniques Including:

  • Reducing the risk of electric shock and arcs through targeted safety strategies
  • Implementing clear protocol for electrical and non-electrical personnel
  • Evaluating the latest technology breakthroughs in protection, earthing and electrical safety
  • Reviewing isolation strategies to ensure complete deenergisation of electrical equipment
  • Managing fault finding in hazardous conditions
  • Mitigating electrical incidents through detailed and concise emergency planning

Key Topics

  • Establishing Key Elements of Electrical Safety from a Safety Management Systems Implementation Perspective
  • Exploring the Latest and Greatest: Machine Safety and Assessing the Newest Tools in the Market for Electrical Hazard Mitigation
  • Incorporating Lockout Tagout (LOTO)/Isolation Procedures into Routine Work to Ensure Standardised Practices across All Sites
  • Working with an Explosive Atmosphere: Fault Finding Working in Vicinity of Live Conditions and Hazardous Areas
  • Dealing with Ageing Electrical Infrastructure and Maintenance Upkeep
