Our safety objective that “we all go home from work without injury or illness” extends to our customers working in high-risk environments. That is why TEN only works with world class, market leading brands in providing electrical safety equipment and PPE for Australia’s electrical infrastructure market.
Arc-Flash
The temperature of an arc flash can reach 19,420°C, which is up to four times hotter than the sun. An arc flash can melt cables and busbars but is not just the heat that is dangerous – the light, noise, mechanical shock, and the resultant secondary risk exposure all make this a potentially fatal exposure. Whilst under the hierarchy of controls we aim to eliminate, substitute, engineer and administrate to mitigate risks, PPE remains a critical control for worker safety protecting workers performing maintenance on energized and de-energizing equipment.
Arc-Flash Standards
TEN offers a head-to-toe solution with ASTM F1506 and NFPA 70E compliant clothing including coveralls, coats, full suits and kits, rubber gloves, balaclavas, hoods, and face shields from 8 to 100 cal/cm² rating.
Industry leading innovations in arc flash include a Lift Front Hood system that creates a natural ventilation system beneath the brim of the hard hat or by the use of ventilation fans at the rear or side of the hood, which minimises heat stress potential.
