For Accuracy and Safety, You Need an Insulated Torque Tool

Insulated Tools Ltd was founded in 1965 and has been manufacturing the widest range of insulated tools in Great Britain ever since. Over the years the equipment and tooling have changed but the mission remains the same; make the longest lasting, hardest wearing, and safest insulated tools.

Our tools are manufactured via an injection moulding process using a unique Nylon bioplastic recipe. This process sees each side of the mould clamped together with 32 tonnes of holding pressure, or the equivalent of 2 double decker buses. After this the material is rapidly heated to over 260˚C in order to form a liquid and then injected into the mould under 1,200 bar of pressure. Once the material cools it forms an unbreakable bond with the tool.

Research by the International Association of Electrical Inspectors has shown that when relying on hand feel, experienced electricians are no better at achieving the correct electrical connection than untrained amateurs. For accuracy and safety, you need a torque tool.

Why use an ITL Insulated Torque Wrench?

The polycarbonate tube is drop and shock proof meaning your torque wrench can withstand the rigours of everyday life. The insulated drive core is easily removed for safe reversal of the ratcheting direction and our Arc-Stop technology is present in every wrench to ensure maximum personal protection from arcing. We have added a host of features such as, our Ovi-Grip handle which provides superior comfort for the user during repetitive use and an increment gauge, meaning each live fixing or fastener can be installed and maintained more accurately than ever before.

Each torque wrench is certified to ISO6789 as well as being electrically tested to ensure compliance to IEC60900.

Verification of the torque wrench is recommended every 12 months by a certified laboratory to double-check the accuracy and repeatability of the torque setting on a given tool. Studies have shown that roughly 60% of manual torque wrenches will be out of calibration at the end of 12 months. If your torque wrench needs re-calibrating ITL have introduced a new Service Exchange Program worldwide. In Australia our distributor partner will swap your torque wrench for a calibrated one to ensures you always have a working calibrated tool to hand.
