Heat Shrink Technology

TE Connectivity (TE) is the pioneer of Heat Shrink Technology having invented their specially-formulated Raychem material over 60+ years ago while testing and improving on the technology through 40+ years of experience in field service conditions.

The MXSU design offers:

  • Triple extruded hybrid component combing heat shrink and elastomeric technology
  • During installation, the stored recovery force of the EPDM insulation layer adds to the recovery force of the two outer heat shrink layers
  • During load cycling any diameter change of the cable can be accommodated

Users benefit from:

  • Tight interfaces with high PD inception voltages
  • Excellent internal pressure withstand
  • Reliable external moisture seal
  • A rigid and tough outer protection

TE’s Elastomeric Heat Shrink Joint, MXSU, for single and 3-core cable systems

Features:

  • Exceeds IEC 60502-4 /CENELEC HD 629 compliance standards
  • Voltage levels up to 42kV
  • Wide range taking capabilities
  • Suited to all polymeric and PILC cable types
  • Customizable kit configurations to customer requirements
  • Impact resistant robust Polyolefin Material similar to modern HDPE cables
  • BSM Shear bolt connectors tested in accordance with IEC 61238-1 class A, eliminate crimping tools for installation
  • Water tightness
  • Decades long shelf life
